Battlefield 6 Players Agree: Missions Are Way Too Hard
The launch of the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, particularly for its top-tier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, simultaneous player numbers surged to nearly 750,000. However, in spite of its success, many players are expressing frustration over several of the title's hardest challenges, which are necessary to obtain particular firearms.
Users have commenced using tailored sessions made via the Portal feature to finish these tasks, emphasizing just how grueling these assignments have become.
Grasping BF6 Tasks
Tasks represent Battlefield 6's ongoing multiplayer objectives, in contrast to the frequently updated daily and weekly challenges. It features four types of assignments, but where most merely grant cosmetics and some tools, finishing the gun missions is the only way of acquiring 12 of the 41 key firearms present in the game.
A number of these locked weapons could shortly make their appearance on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.
Player Outcry on Reddit
On Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how hard and tedious several of these challenges are. One user emphasized one of the most extreme examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:
- Subdue 300 opponents with LMGs
- Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs
"This mission is so awful and totally unreasonable, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how frustratingly difficult these tasks are.
The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it had in previous games. It only tallies as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.
At the same time, hipfiring an LMG is extremely unreliable and only works at very short distances, which is not usually a position you aim to be. The same user also highlighted the irony in the SMG challenge, required for the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that mission would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and conversely.
Another Overly Demanding Mission
One more community participant brought attention to a further incredibly demanding challenge, now in the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:
- Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with marksman guns
This is difficult enough on its own, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.
There is a decent selection of map sizes, but since there are only nine maps in the game right now, it restricts you to playing New Sobek City, Mirak Valley, and possibly an additional option in a best-case scenario if you want to snipe from beyond 200 meters.
The Alternative Method
Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. This portal feature is a feature that enables you to design tailored experiences on the battleground of your choice, complete with bots. This means you can cheese the system… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.
However, when doing the challenges in a standard match appears to work against fun, since you must engage in such an unorthodox manner that doesn't benefit you or your team, is it surprising for finishing these in a personal session so teammates aren't hindered?
Future Adjustments
It should not be shocking if some of these assignments are toned down in the coming days or weeks, because should they remain unchanged, some players simply will never acquire the locked firearms.
Currently, the community continues to voice their opinions on these strenuous battlefield assignments, anticipating a fairer gaming experience in future updates.
