It has been confirmed that original actors Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson will reprise their iconic roles in the newest chapter of the Hunger Games film series, titled The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The film is currently in production.

An Important Reunion for Fans

The actors are slated to play Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, respectively. Speculation suggests their cameos will take the form of a future-set scene, considering the original saga concluded with their characters settled into family life.

This represents the sixth cinematic outing in the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise.

Sunrise on the Reaping is based upon a recent book by author Suzanne Collins. It acts as the second film set before the original story after 2023's The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Once again is Francis Lawrence, who was behind nearly all the previous films in the series.

The film's narrative are set in the years leading up to the first Hunger Games, focusing on a young Haymitch Abernathy. Haymitch, destined to become Katniss's mentor, is portrayed as a tribute in the notorious 50th Hunger Games.

The film welcomes several prominent actors in important characters:

• Jesse Plemons will portray Plutarch Heavensbee.
• Ralph Fiennes will appear as a younger version of the menacing President Snow.

What the Stars Are Doing Now & The Film's Schedule

In other news, Jennifer Lawrence stars in the film Die My Love. Josh Hutcherson recently appeared in the successful franchise Five Nights at Freddy's 2.
