I cannot count on a three-year period at Manchester United - the United boss
The Manchester United coach - pictured getting support after May's European final loss - notes he is satisfied by the investor's extended support but emphasized that the future is unpredictable in soccer.
United's manager the Portuguese coach feels it's significant Sir Jim Ratcliffe publicly shared his extended perspective - but notes nothing is assured about the future in the sport, let alone three years.
During a discussion with a leading newspaper in recent days, Sir Jim mentioned it may need the manager a three-year period to make a significant impact at United's home ground.
Arriving during a time when Amorim's future has been receiving close inspection after a prolonged run of disappointing results, the statements assisted in calming some of the immediate pressure.
But, speaking before the 100th meeting with historic adversaries the Reds at their home ground, Amorim stressed that the future is hard to predict in football.
"It is really good to receive that message but he informs me continuously, sometimes with a message post fixtures - but understand, I'm aware and Jim knows, that soccer doesn't work that way," he said.
"The crucial element is the upcoming match. Even with owners, you cannot dictate the next day in football."
Chief executive the club executive has acknowledged it has needed far longer for the head coach to adapt to the top division following his move from his former club last November than any person expected.
The Red Devils have secured 10 times in 34 league games with the Portuguese coach. They still haven't achieved back-to-back league wins and didn't complete a fixture schedule during this campaign better than ninth place.
The dire statistics are stretching belief in the manager among the Red Devils supporters entering a stretch of fixtures the side has performed poorly in for the last couple of years.
The manager stated he does not feel the instability internally at the club's Carrington training ground and is adamant nothing compares to the stress he puts on the team - and to some extent, he would choose the co-owner to avoid attempting to establish serenity because he worries the impact it could have on the squad.
"It isn't merely a thing that people talk about, I feel it every day," he stated. "It's truly positive to receive it because it assists our supporters to understand the administration realize it needs a while.
"But at the same moment, I don't like it because it creates an impression that we possess time to solve problems. I don't desire that impression in our team.
"The expectation I apply to the squad or to myself is so much bigger [than that from outside]. In the sport, especially in big clubs, you have to show yourself every matchday."
